Environmental protection

At Camping Plage Robertson, we care a lot about nature and the environment, and for us protecting the environment is part of our DNA.

OUR MISSION

WASTEWATER TREATMENT: Since our campground is located on the shores of the majestic Lac St-Jean, our primary responsibility is to protect this wonderful lake. We will achieve this by installing a modern wastewater collection and treatment system by the end of 2024 that ensures that all wastewater generated by the use of the 27 cottages, 35 seasonal campsites, our restaurant, and public toilets is collected and treated according to the standards of the Government of Quebec.

WATER USE: We will install amenities that minimize water usage, such as a water-saving shower head and toilet. And we will also install a timer on each shower to remind our guests to do their part to save water.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION: The transition to carbon-reliable energy, including for transportation, requires an increase in electricity production in Quebec. The installation, in November 2023, by Camping Plage Robertson of 180 panels capable of generating 135,000 KwH by solar directly aims to reduce GHG emissions in Quebec and also diversify our income.

WASTE MANAGEMENT: We will also retain the services of a professional to prepare a Waste Management Plan that allows us to collect, sort and dispose of all waste produced by the beach, campsite and restaurant operations in accordance with the principles of maximum waste recovery.

SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION: When we contracted a construction company to build our 26 pods, we selected a manufacturer that followed the principles of the Sustainable Construction Charter. To learn more about these principles, click here.
