Our story
From a family beach to a 4-season POD experience
It all began in the heart of the Innu community of Mashteuiatsh, on a magnificent beach that embraces Pekuakami — the vast Lake Saint-Jean. More than 60 years ago, the Robertson family created a simple and welcoming place where people came to gather, swim, camp… and leave with unforgettable memories.
Year after year, Camping Plage Robertson has become a must-visit in the region:
a beach loved by all, a lakeside vibrant in the summer, where children's laughter and evening bonfires were part of the experience.
Today, a new chapter begins.
With respect for this cherished past, the accommodation is being transformed:
Campsites are disappearing to make way for PODs — mini wooden cabins designed to experience nature all year round, in rhythm with the seasons.
And with this evolution was born a name that unites the place and its soul :
Accommodation Robertson Beach - Shekutamit Experience -
Shekutamit means "the end of the deep waters "
It is a tribute to the territory, to its memory, to those who have always lived there.
This change is:
The Same Place
Two names
One story
Our mission remains the same:
To offer a warm and welcoming accommodation experience , where the lake, nature, and history intertwine.

This is the future… rooted in our past.
